Glo Retains Position As Grand Master Of Data

I guess GLO's position as the grand masters of data is one that they can't let go easily. Recently they reviewed and afterwards, reduced their data and this got a lot of complaints and insults from customers and users who were even still managing their poor network connection.

But like it is always said, 'don't judge a book by it's cover', the same could be said of GLO. Despite the reduction in the data size, they still managed to retain the position of the grand masters of data. Defeating every other network with noticeable units.

Glo the indisputable masters of Data has fallen our hands. I guess its because they have regained all the costomers they lost due to their network flaws by increasing their data size buy now guerss they have acquired enough users, if you could also recall that they were interested in acquiring 9mobile but things went wrong, which lead to Globacom complaining about their company’s health status.

The situation on ground is really so not favourable for anyone irrespective of their poor network connection, they decided to make their situation and that of people worse by reducing their data size.

Before now we use to enjoy 4GB For N1000 and 9.5GB For N2000 but after the review N1000 now gives you just 1.6GB and 2GB for auto renewal, As for N2000 it gives you just 3.65GB and 4.5GB for Auto-renewal. imagine the 4GB is now for N2000. This is annoying.

Glo Declares September 28, 2017 As Free Data Day

Glo the data monster, if you could recall, once declared August 11 2017 as free data day whereby every eligible customer could enjoy data of up to 200MB.

That free data day offer was later prohibited by NCC and Glo was thereby forced to terminate the offer. But Glo is back again with a similar offer and I want to believe that this time it's NCC approved

According to Glo;

All Glo customers can now enjoy a whole day of free data when they meet set of voice and/or data usage threshold within 7 days to the free data day.

As we all know that there is a price to pay to enjoy just anything in life, there are conditions to be met before enjoyment of this data offer is guaranteed. 

Glo has officially announced September 28, 2017 as free data day. It doesn't require much stress. There's no subscription or whatever plan to opt in for. To be eligible for Glo free data day, you need to meet some certain requirements which I'll explain here in this article.

How to be Eligible for Glo Free Data Day

To be eligible, ensure you do either of the following in the 7 days preceding the announced Free data Day:

• Use N150 or more on voice calls PLUS 100MB or more of data OR
• Use N250 or more on voice calls.

If you meet the above requirements, you will receive an SMS announcing your eligibility for the free data day.

What is the Data Capacity for the Glo Free Data Day?

Glo has made it clear that you will browse free on that day, but when you exceed 200MB, your browsing will stop. This implies that it's capped at 200MB.

8. What is the volume of data I’ll get on that day to browse for free? A whooping 200MB is what you get to enjoy on that day
9. How often can I get the offer? Once a week? Announcements will always be made via SMS to herald the free data day.
10. What if I use less than N250 on voice in 7 days before the Free Data Day? You will not get the free data on the designated day
11. Will I qualify if I recharge N250 or more within the 7 days? No you will not. It is either you use: I. N250 or more on calls ONLY OR II. You use at least N150 on calls PLUS at least 100MB within the 7 days
12. What if I use N100 on voice and more than 100MB on data? You will not get the free data on the designated day
13. What if I used my N250 on data only? You will not get the free data on the designated day
14. What if I use N250 on voice and SMS? You will not get the free data on the designated day because SMS usage is not one of the qualifiers
15. What categories of calls are recognized as voice usage? Calls made from Main account to Glo line, non-Glo line and International destinations.
16. Will calls made from bonus account qualify for free data day? Calls made from Bonus accounts will not qualify for Free Data Day

Free Data Day Promo By Glo Stopped By NCC

Yesterday was supposed to be the day where all eligible glo subscriber would enjoy Free data; yesterday was supposed to be the day where you enjoy legal free browsing without feeling guilty on Glo network, but something happened, NCC has stopped Globacom Nigeria’s plans to offer free data to all its subscribers on Friday, August 11, 2017.

Glo had announced that eligible subscribers will enjoy as much as 200 megabytes of data for free, in what it called the “free data day”.

But NCC said that the promotion was not in line with what was approved by the regulator. According to NCC, 

"It has however come to our notice that Globacom Nigeria Ltd has been implementing the above regulatory approval in breach especially given your recent media campaign on the ‘Glo free data offer’, a clear departure from terms and condition of the approval given for the Glo overload promotion.

 “Consequent upon the above, you are hereby directed to suspend implementation of the Glo overload promotion from your network with immediate effect,” the letter read.

Below I will be showing you Glo settings for Reality VPN , which you can use to browse and download without limit on the Glo network in Nigeria. 

Steps 

1. Send PayU to 127 as a text message.

2. Goto APN settings on your Glo line and choose "glosecure" .

3. Install and open Reality VPN and click reality VPN settings on the top right corner of the app

4. Select Bundle Settings and tick "Use Bundled Settings" then click "select bundled settings" and choose (NGNGlo) 0.0#.

5. Go back to the main menu and connect..

Troubleshooting
